Man and the universe are the unity.

Guru Mai Ram

About the Author Mai Ram

Mai Ram was born in Vilnius on January 15th, 1969. Before discovering yoga, she studied Chemistry at Vilnius University. Yoga came to Mai Ram's life very naturally: since childhood, she had been raising existential questions, consistently seeking spiritual knowledge, was interested in philosophical and religious questions, as well as spiritual practices.

A desire to find out how thinking, behavior and the body interact led the already practicing yogini to enroll in the Bachelor studies of Psychology. She acquired detailed knowledge in anatomy, physiology, psyche, anthropology and various branches of psychology that helped her to better understand other people and to pass on the yogic teachings to them.

Mai Ram draws on and learns the expression and experience of contemporary art from the artists: Gintautas Šiupšinskas, Gintarė Valevičiūtė-Brazauskienė, and Aušra Kleizaitė.

The purpose
of Mai Ram Art Gallery

By purchasing works of Mai Ram Art Gallery, You are helping to build the Mai Ram Yoga ashram in India, Varanasi, a sacred city of Shiva, on the banks of Ganges river.

Varanasi is the most majestic tirtha for me. In Sanskrit, tirtha means a holy place, where divine power manifests. In this place, disciple finds a Teacher. In this place, after immersing into holy waters and performing worship as well as sacrificial rituals, the mind is cleansed and the knowing of existence manifests.

Mai Ram Yoga

Guru Mai Ram is a successor of the yogic tradition of Nath yogis of India. She continues Kapala Nath's teaching line.

Naths are the pioneers of yoga, the yoga Masters who received teachings directly from Lord Shiva. Naths are also called the great Mahasiddhas, they have attained perfection. This lineage of great Masters (Skr. sampradāya) is one of the oldest lineages of yogic teachings, which has survived for thousands of years till these days due to strict isolation and asceticism.

And although the teaching of yoga is mentioned in ancient Sanskrit scriptures, the true knowledge of yoga, spiritual power and the sacred secret are transmitted from generation to generation only directly, by word of mouth from Guru to disciples. According to the tradition of Naths, Masters of yoga, Guru is considered to be the true source of teaching.

Other activities

For a decade, Mai Ram has been the author of a long-term art project in the form of annual calendars that reflect the content of yoga philosophy, practical insights, and artistic body photography. Each year, this project reveals a new aspect of the idea of the unity of a Human Being and the Creator through the expressions of sacred geometry.

A sound is another form of creation used by Mai Ram, i. e. the sacred Sanskrit chants played on Spotify and Youtube channels. The "Bhagavadgita" is presented in Lithuanian in audiobook. The "Bhagavadgita" ("Song of the Lord", 4th-3rd century BC) is one of the greatest literary-philosophical works not only of ancient India but of all mankind.
